Redlining, what it is and why did it really exist.
History is not always comfortable; however, it is necessary to know to avoid the grift later. History is being banned because it is a known fact that a person that does not know his/her history cannot thrive. It was the reason behind keeping slaves from learning to read and write. In 1933, faced with a housing shortage, the federal government began a program explicitly designed to increase — and segregate — America's housing stock. Author Richard Rothstein says the housing programs begun under the New Deal were tantamount to a "state-sponsored system of segregation."
Historian Says Don't 'Sanitize' How Our Government Created Ghettos
The government's efforts were "primarily designed to provide housing to white, middle-class, lower-middle-class families," he says. African Americans and other people of color were left out of the new suburban communities - and pushed instead into urban housing projects. For more information read:

Blind/Low Vision
Just Jameen appeals for the month of April & May to support organizations that focus on blind and low vision. We have two listed below. I am also asking you to support the following organizations and help reach the Just Jameen goal of $2000.00 for April:
- Greater Detroit Agency for Blind & Visually Impaired Greater Detroit Agency for the Blind and Visually Impaired (GDABVI) - Training and improving the lives of Deaf and low vision.
- Eye Learn EyeLearn- CEO Sabrina Simmons Training and improving the lives of blind and low vision people.

I want to continue to highlight two scholarships for Deaf/hard of Hearing I am enthusiastic about. The Continuing Education Scholarship for Deaf/Hard of Hearing co-sponsored by The Association for the Advancement of Deaf/Hard of Hearing (AADHH) and Greater Metro Detroit Lions Club (GMDLC) and the Lions Hearing Center of Michigan Love-Peel Scholarship for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Students.
The AADHH scholarship for High Students who are deaf is open and given in June.
The GMDLC/AADHH Continuing Education Scholarship application for deaf/hh is open as well. The deadline is Oct 5th.
We are asking that you consider donating to helping deaf/hard of hearing students along their educational pathway. See below how you can contact the organizations and donate to these worthy scholarships.

Just Jameen Products scent " Apple Bourbon" is described as distillery bourbon and aged honey are crystallized in a perfect blend of honey crisp apple and vanilla caramel.
Just Jameen Products scent "Cucumber Melon" is described as a delightful blend of cucumber and honeydew melon with notes of sparkling citrus and white musk.
These scents would be wonderful in a candle, but also try them in our creamy shea, frappe, or body butter. Try them in our bath gel and soap as well.
